Working for the Sociedad Mexicana de Otorrinolaringología y Cirugía de Cabeza y Cuello (SMORL CCC), I was challenged to create the identity for the LXVII National Congress of Head and Neck Surgery. Taking place in Mérida Yucatán, the task was to create an identity that skew away from the Mayan and pre-Hispanic themes of the region. Mérida, known as the "White City" for its colonial architecture, influenced by the henequen-producing haciendas of the past, became the primary inspiration for the project, incorporating shapes and colors reminiscent of these haciendas.
